Sometimes I need to get out from behind the computer screen and out into the field.
In this image example, I show my photography skills and my retouching skills.
I like the idea of using images and retouching in clever ways for viewers to question or think deeper about the details, sometimes in subtle ways.
I photographed the vehicle in the early sunrise in a different location in 2020. Then I stripped out the background and added new background images from my photo archive. The replaced background images were a similar early sunrise of the Detroit skyline from 2012.
The final images you see show the stark contrast of an old city and new technology. When I photographed Detroit eight years earlier, there was no talk of fully electric vehicles nor had there the been large-scale development and rehabilitation of the buildings in the City as there is now.
Creating these image concepts keeps my skills sharp, my inspiration and motivation high and my personal creativity and satisfaction fulfilled.
