This is a personal project I created for my self.
The challenge I set for my self was to use all the skills needed in order to make a automotive CGI image. In this image example I show my photography, CGI and Retouching skills.
First I capture the backgrounds and HDRI domes at the same location with my high-res camera system. Doing this allows the rendered models have the same reflections bounced back into the model. This creates more realism bring the image closer to photography.
The second step is to prep the car model. Creating textures and applying them to the model. Next I set up the scene in C4D-R21 importing the background, applying HDRI dome and positioning the vehicle. Then I start test renders and tweaking materials again. I also preview the dome by rotating it around and choosing the best reflections that show the form of the car without being to much.
The last step in my process is rendering a handful of images. In retouching I choose the best parts of the all the renders and mask them together for a final image.
Creating projects for my self keeps me motivated, sharpens my skills and keeps me creative.
